More efficiency, scalability and security using FirstSpirit CMS

GASAG AG, headquartered in Berlin, has been a key player in the energy supply and services sector for over 175 years. As one of the largest regional energy suppliers in Germany, GASAG offers a comprehensive range of energy and environmental solutions, including electricity, gas, heat and innovative energy services. The company's history dates back to 1847. To this day, it has continuously established itself as a reliable partner for households, companies and municipalities.

The client managed seven websites using a content management system that had become increasingly impractical. Editorial maintenance was highly time-consuming, and the on-premise solution posed additional challenges related to scalability and security—significant risks for a critical infrastructure company. To improve flexibility in responding to editorial requirements and technological advancements, GASAG decided to relaunch its seven websites.

The migration to the cloud-based FirstSpirit CMS delivered numerous advantages for GASAG. Editorial processes were significantly modernized, enabling the editorial team to respond more flexibly and quickly to future demands. By transitioning to the cloud, Crownpeak assumed responsibility for system operations, freeing GASAG’s IT department from maintenance and update tasks. At the same time, the system provides enhanced security and availability. User-friendliness was also improved. In compliance with the Digital Accessibility Act (German: BFSG), the websites were made accessible and now meet future standards. Thanks to a “mobile-first” approach, GASAG’s websites are optimized for mobile devices, addressing the increasing demand for mobile accessibility.

The close collaboration between Monday Consulting and GASAG resulted in a successful project completion. The next steps will focus on implementing additional features and enhancements identified during the project. Monday Consulting will continue to support GASAG in the ongoing development of its websites.
