New insurance search tool gives customers the fastest way to find the right product.
HanseMerkur is the only insurance company independent of any other insurance group operating in the Hamburg financial hub. Formed 144 years ago, the company is today the second-largest travel insurance company in Germany.
The website operated by HanseMerkur Reiseversicherung needed a new technical platform, a contemporary design and a modern structure in order to adequately handle today’s requirements. Centralized publication to a single domain was one key point, as was optimized presentation across all devices.
With its new, centralized website at www.hmrv.de offering the same user experience on all devices, HanseMerkur Reiseversicherung has positioned itself for its primary B2C customer segment as an approachable and trusted provider.
Optimized usability, a contemporary layout as well as improvements to site navigation and product presentation all work to present the company in the best light within the foreign travel insurance segment. The new platform is also an internal milestone for HanseMerkur: it is the first website in the Group whose design follows the new online style guide to the letter and can therefore now serve as a template for future relaunches.
At the heart of the new online presence is a stronger focus on individual requirements. This means that customers’ wide-ranging needs and situations can now be served individually. Whether travelling round the world as an au pair, holidaymaker or backpacker—just a few details and clicks now provide the fastest way to the right product.
This is where Formcentric is deployed. The Form Manager is customized so that the data required is queried dynamically based on previous user input. This saves many of the steps otherwise necessary for a static form. And the shorter user path also increases form completion rates.
Monday Consulting implemented the Insurance Finder with the help of the Formcentric Form Manager, which integrates optimally as a part of CoreMedia Studio. Editorial staff can publish updates and extra material themselves, applying easy-to-define rules and conditions to set up workflows and routines. This ensures that the HanseMerkur website remains customizable and always up-to-date. New products are automatically indexed using keywords and incorporated into the query workflow.
Conclusive clicks
The Insurance Finder expertly guides customers through the travel insurance jungle to the right product.

Content from the former three separate websites is now maintained centrally and published using a uniform layout.
Know-how transfer
Monday Consulting has passed on its expertise, training DevOps and editorial staff in how to use the new CMS.
Nor has Monday Consulting merely been the technical implementation partner for the HanseMerkur website relaunch. Apart from migrating the site to the new CoreMedia platform and designing and customizing the new layout, the company also provided consulting services and contributed its experience as a CMS specialist with insights from past projects. This has ensured the achievement of all the client’s targets— from optimizing editorial processes and ensuring a modern, secure website for customers to restructuring existing and future content into a clear-cut and appealing format.
